Welcome Baby Haayllee & Freebie

So I know I said I would be back a few days ago for my 2nd freebie but I was not able to get back here. I got really busy with my finals and trip to Reno that was supposed to be only to Las Vegas. It was a long ride to Reno with 3 children but the ride home was the best. Lots of quality time spent with my best friend, we talked NON STOP from Reno, NV to Kingman, AZ.. I don't have much of a voice right now.. I was a bad girl on my trip. I bought 2 packs of cigarettes. I can handle being at home and not smoking but the driving part I guess I have not been able to concor. The small short drives are ok, it's the long one lasting more then an hour that I have the problems with.

We stopped in Kingman, AZ to visit my grandpa's widow, Hazel.. I love that woman! I have only met her 3 times but Kari says we act like we have known each other forever. I'm sure she feels like she already knows me because Grandpa used to talk to her about me all the time. She will always be a special person to me because she was there with my Grandpa when he passed. My Grandpa had always been a great man, staying with my grandma through her 2 strokes and then her passing, then his next wife who passed with the most severe form of cancer. He stuck with both woman giving them everything he had and everything he was. When it was his turn to go, he had Hazel who did the same thing for him in return. Hazel gave up everything she had in New Hampshire to move to Arizona to marry my Grandpa and now that he has passed, she is still styaing in Arizona. She says there are no regrets and that she loves Arizona. I am just glad that I was able to meet the woman who loved my grandpa and took care of him when he needed it the most. I have plans on going back up to Kingman about the middle of July to visit her while she has her 14 yr old niece over from New Hampshire. That will be fun. Maybe I will have to take my niece who is 15 yrs old up there for the weekend and see how that goes?

I also want to give the biggest CONGRATULATIONS to Vivayne on the birth of Baby Haylee...She is an absolutely beautiful little girl. I can't wait to see more pictures of her. :) I just love babies..

I have a strong feeling I passed both my college classes with A's but I don't have all the final grades in yet. I start my next 2 classes tomorrow and that is the same day that my husband starts his new job where he will be gone for 2 weeks at a time and only home every other weekend for 2 - 3 days. Thankfully it's only temporary but still it's going to be hard and a toughie to deal with. He will at least be home for our one year anniversary.

I am on my last week of my first part of College. I can't believe I am almost finished. I should be working on my final projects for both classes but I wanted a break. My next 2 classes that I am going to be taken are going to be classes I hate. They involve writing essays and Thesis Statements. We are also going to be going over Grammar & Puncuation, what fun!

I QUIT!

Some of you may know, some may not know; My husband and I moved in with my sister and her 3 kids.. The oldest child lived with me for about 3 yrs, she is 15 yrs old, the other two are quiet a big younger at 7 & 8 yrs old. One boy, one girl and the oldest is a girl. Anyway, the oldest is a teenager and she prett much does what she wants, when she wants because she is more or less a pretty good kid and she helps watch the younger two quiet a bit. The other two, you have to tell them something at least 100 times before you give up because they refuse to listen or choose not too.

Well, tonight the younger child, Barbara, learned a painful lesson. She was under the kitchen table picking up change but getting in my dogs face (4 yr old male boxer) and my husband told her DON'T GET IN COPPERS FACE, HE WILL BITE YOU next thing I hear is Copper sounding like he's giving a warning to Barbara for being in his face. Turned out it was more then a warning. It looks like he bit her lip. Not sure if he bit her lip or his tooth got caught on her lip as he was giving his warning. He has always been VERY GOOD about giving warnings and he has NEVER snapped at anyone EVER. But these kids just don't know when to quit and it drives me crazy. I don't want my dog to hate children, he loves them and you can pretty much do anything with him but when he's lying quitly under the kitchen table AT DINNER TIME waiting for food to fall, getting in his face is not appropriate.



My nephew (8 yrs old) says Copper has not bit me YET! What do you mean YET? do you plan on making him bite you? WTH?? Obviously he does not want to learn his lesson from watching his younger sister get bit huh? Now I feel like it's just another reason I have to watch them even more and I will have to worry when I am not home and they are because who knows what is going to happen.

Oh yeah, today was my first full SMOKE FREE DAY! That's right, I'm taking the leap and it's a big leap for me. When I was not ready to quit smoking, just talking about quitting made me want to go light up a cigarette. Now I don't even think about it, I have not had a cigarette is about 24 hours and there is not wanting or needing or thinking I'm going to die without one. I guess that is a GREAT SIGN to have.. 2 of my greatest friends have quit, one about 2 years ago and the other 3 or 4 yrs ago. Prices are just to expensive.. At $45 a carton for Winstons when you don't have much money is alot of money to be spending on something that is going to kill me in the end.
Tried going to the river this weekend with my household, my best friends household and meeting my BIL's brother and friends out at the Verde River.. Yeah, that didn't go well. First, the Verde River was like 50 miles from my best friends house and off the paved road. Ok, so the paved road is not bad, I used to go play in the desert with my 98 Chevy Cavalier when it was brand new. I have a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan now and it was fully loaded with 7 people. Not the vehicle to be taking in the desert and climbing rocky hills and rough terrain. I cracked my bumper pretty good and who know's what my sister did to her car ('06 Ford Fusion). No, we don't like to take trucks out to the desert.. lol So anyway, we leave and were heading off to the Salt River when we get to our turn and see my BIL's brother go past us. We flipped a u-turn and followed his brother and that's when I cracked my bumper and almost got stuck and all the fun stuff happened. We ended up telling him to *&^%$#@ # *(#$ and we left. Just ended up dropping off my friend and her family and coming home. We never did see the river, so we will make plans to go to the Salt River in a few weeks. In less then 2 weeks I have a road trip going to Las Vegas. I am so excited! I'm hoping to meet a very wonderful Digiscrapping Lady while I'm there but that all depends on what's happening with her...Only 2 more weeks to go for my first block of classes. Sunday always marks the final day of the week. I turned in my homework already. So far for one class I am getting a 99% and the other I am getting a 95%. I am upset a little about the 95% but then I should not be because it's still an A. It's funny because I never cared in high school if I got an A, B or C. I am tired of writing though, I hate writing and I have never been good with English. I had to take Freshman English twice and I don't know how I passed the other 3 yrs without having to retake them. So my next block that starts June 22 has the final class that focuses on writing. It will take me 9 weeks to finish it. Oh, I have one more LO to share with you from Rachael Hudnall's - New Day kit..
New Day - Rachael Hudnall This wonderful family is my BIL and his parents Linda & Frank. They come over to visit and see where Jason had moved to. He is 30 yrs old (deaf) and first time moving away from home. He was so excited to show his parents HIS own house key, HIS house, HIS family. It was alot of fun to see Jason get so excited at showing off everything to his parents, it was a really great visit with them too. I am really trying hard to keep my blog updated, but I have not been scrapping much and there is not alot going on. That's it for now... Love & Hugs

Quick Rant, Rave and a New Day

First, I have to say that Emergency Rooms charge way to much freaking money. I had severe abdominal pains a few weeks ago and ended up at the ER (with no insurance) I get a bill for almost $12,000 USD... $12,000 freaking dollars, you can get surgery cheaper then that.. HOLY CRAP!!! I had to go back 3 days later because I could not breath and that visit only cost me about $1500.. On top of all these outrageous cost to visit the ER, they could not give me a prescription that was easily filled. The first one was not able to be filled because the 3 stores we went to could not fill them and they could not get that paticular item through the warehouse. The 2nd one was so expensive I could not afford it. It was a 5 or 7 day antibiotic over $150.00 USD. Ok, that's my rant for this post.

My rave is my best friend went and got a title loan on her car (i would have warned her had I known she was doing this) The payments were $65 / 2 weeks or $130 / month. They were trying to get back on their feet after her husband had been out of work for awhile. They missed one weeks payment and got back on track, they missed another week and the very next day they repo'd their car. Ok, they were kind of expecting it.. It's hard to swallow right off but it soon get's soft enough to handle it and deal with what needs to be dealt with right? So the next morning she calls and tells them she can come down RIGHT NOW and pay the past due amount, she was told NO It will be $1500 to get the car back.. First, the car loan was only $800 and the tow bill was only $300 so where is this other $400 coming from?? The next day after talking to them she gets a letter in the mail saying there were going to repo her car, and the next day she gets another letter saying she owes so much money, blah blah blah, on the third day, she gets a letter from a collection agency... Less then two weeks after the repo and at least 5 - 6 days before auction date I take her down to the location of the car to find out it's not there it's already at the auction house. I run her over to the auction house and guess what? They have already cleaned her car out 2-3 days BEFORE because the title loan company told them to sell the car.. This was before they knew that the car could not be recovered monetarily. Everything in the car was gone, all her paper work and anything else that was in the car. Let this be a lesson to you, getting a title loan is NOT WORTH IT.
